Infiniti QX30 versus Mercedes-Benz GLA

Infiniti's QX30 is new in the United States for 2017 model year, and if you noticed that it just looks like too-similar to Mercedes-Benz GLA Class, then you have a good eye. Production and development of QX30 has been possible thanks to joint venture between Renault-Nissan and Daimler, parent companies of Infinity and Mercedes-Benz respectfully. The two luxury compact crossovers look especially similar from front three-quarter view angle.

Power and Drivetrain

Platform isn't the only thing these two compact crossovers share. They also have the same engine, a 2-liter inline turbo that produces 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. However for GLA45 AMG the engine produces extra 167 hp. Both models have the same 7-speed automatic transmission and are offered with front- or all-wheel drive systems.

Dimensions

Sharing the same platform in most cases means exact same wheelbase, which we have here for both spanning 106.3 inches. GLA's non-AMG model is a bit shorter, sits lower, and is narrower than the QX30.

Pricing

Starting price for Infiniti QX30 is $29,950, which is about $3k less than Mercedes-Benz GLA's $32,850. QX30 is offered in four trims, the most expensive of which, QX30 Sport can push the base MSRP to $38,500.
