BMW M2 versus 1-Series M

In 2010 BMW M division introduced the baby M coupe, and in order not to overshadow its their legendary M1 sports car, they named it the 1-Series M Coupe. Naming has gotten simpler since the release of BMW M2 - 2-Series is now the new 1-Series - which is a successor of the 1-Series M and brings more power and interior space.

For $5,500 extra sticker price M2 offers more power from M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine. But the biggest change of course is on the exterior of the sports coupe. Compared to 1 Series M Coupe, M2 is significantly wider and longer, but thanks to lightweight technology and newly developed lighter engine, the compact high-performance sports car accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds, half a second faster than its predecessor.
