2027 Lexus IS Special Appearance Package Goes Green
Lexus gives its compact sport sedan a more distinctive wardrobe with the 2027 Lexus IS Special Appearance Package. Based on the IS 350 F SPORT, the limited-production configuration pairs an exclusive green exterior with forged wheels, coordinated cabin details, and a substantial collection of chassis and technology equipment. The engine, however, keeps the same output as the rest of the IS lineup.
Lexus presented the car in Miami at the final stop of its four-city IS 25th Legacy Tour, marking a quarter-century of the nameplate. The package also extends an annual run of special editions and appearance treatments that began in 2022.
Green Paint Does the Heavy Lifting
The new color, Envious, gives the 2027 Lexus IS a subdued, almost military-green character. It works well with the sedan’s sharply creased body, particularly around the rear fenders, without making every surface demand attention. Black 19-inch BBS forged alloy wheels reinforce that darker theme, alongside the black mirror caps and rear spoiler. Red brake calipers provide a small break from the green-and-black palette.
Up front, slim Triple Beam LED headlights sit above a broad mesh grille that still dominates the nose. The paint softens that visual aggression a little, though this remains a busy front-end design. The rear looks more settled: a thin lighting strip stretches across the trunk, while two round exhaust outlets punctuate the dark lower bumper. To my eye, the rear three-quarter view makes the strongest case for this color combination.

A Familiar V6 With Standard Chassis Hardware
Every 2027 Lexus IS, including this Special Appearance Package, uses a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 producing 311 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Lexus pairs rear-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive versions of the IS use a six-speed automatic, an important distinction beyond simply adding traction at the front wheels.
The package includes the Handling Package rather than leaving it as another option. That brings sport-tuned Adaptive Variable Suspension and five Drive Mode Select settings: ECO, Normal, Sport S, Sport S+, and Custom. Rear-wheel-drive cars also receive a Torsen limited-slip rear differential. That differential does not accompany all-wheel drive.
Those chassis components give the appearance treatment some mechanical substance, but this is not a higher-output IS 350 F SPORT. Lexus has not announced 0-to-60-mph acceleration or top-speed figures for the special configuration.
A Quieter Approach Inside
The cabin carries the exterior theme through green stitching rather than large panels of matching upholstery. Lexus fits F SPORT seats with perforated black NuLuxe synthetic trim and Ultrasuede inserts, then adds satin chrome accents. The restrained contrast feels appropriate here. There is enough color to connect the interior to the body without turning the seats into the main attraction.
The dashboard combines a digital instrument display and a separate central screen with physical climate controls and a conventional gear selector. That mix gives the interior a less screen-dominated layout than some newer cabins. A moonroof, power rear sunshade, Mark Levinson audio system, and Smart Access Key Card all come with the package.
Driver Assistance Joins the Equipment List
Lexus also includes the Technology Package, bundling Traffic Jam Assist capability, Lane Change Assist, and Front Cross-Traffic Alert. These features support the driver in different traffic situations; they do not turn the IS into a self-driving sedan.
For lower-speed maneuvering, the Special Appearance Package adds Intuitive Parking Assist and a Panoramic View Monitor. The latter provides a surround-view camera perspective, complementing the parking assistance rather than requiring buyers to add another equipment bundle.

A Small Allocation, With Pricing Still Missing
There's only 350 examples planned for the North American market, so the allocation covers more than the United States alone. Lexus expects dealership arrivals later in 2026. The automaker has not yet announced the 2027 Lexus IS Special Appearance Package’s MSRP or released its complete specifications, leaving both the package’s cost and the finished car’s sticker price unconfirmed.
More Distinction, Not More Muscle
The 2027 IS Special Appearance Package centers on an appealing color treatment and a broad standard-equipment list, with adaptive suspension and the rear-drive limited-slip differential adding more than decoration. Its limited availability separates it from an ordinary IS 350 F SPORT, but buyers should recognize what Lexus has created: a carefully equipped, visually different version of the same 311-hp sedan, not a new performance flagship.
