The 2024 Chevrolet E-Ray: Blending Tradition and Innovation

Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the iconic Corvette's premiere at Motorama in New York City, Chevrolet has unveiled an electrified variant of the storied model. With an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and a potent 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8, the 2024 E-Ray becomes the first Corvette of its kind.

A New Chapter in Corvette's Legacy

Starting from the initial concept's enthusiastic reception in 1953, the Corvette has embodied seven decades of performance, American inventiveness, and fervor. The E-Ray, by introducing an electrified AWD variant, builds on this rich legacy and offers a glimpse into the potential future of the Corvette line.

With the E-Ray, Corvette enthusiasts can now venture into any terrain and season, thanks to its incorporation of electrification to boost performance and provide assured traction across various weather conditions. Available as a hardtop convertible or a removable roof coupe, the E-Ray brings an exciting new dimension to grand touring experiences.

A Unique Fusion of Power and Responsiveness

The E-Ray stands out as the only sports car that marries two distinct propulsion systems. By combining the naturally aspirated V-8 power with an eAWD system's electrified responsiveness, it creates an unprecedented fusion of performance attributes. This potent blend allows the E-Ray to claim the title of the fastest production Corvette, with a 0-60 mph time of just 2.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 10.5 seconds.

The E-Ray is equipped with a 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8, which delivers 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque to the rear axle. This engine is supplemented by an electric motor that adds an extra 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque, directed to the front wheels through a 1.9 kWh battery pack. In total, the E-Ray produces a combined output of 655 horsepower.

Intelligent Traction and Charging

The E-Ray's innovative eAWD system constantly adapts to road surfaces and traction conditions, ensuring optimal stability during spirited driving or in low-traction environments. The car also eliminates the need for plug-in charging as its battery system is charged by regenerative energy from coasting, braking, and normal driving.

Design That Embodies the Future

The E-Ray carries forward Corvette's refined, athletic design, now made more distinctive with its wider stance and exclusive five-spoke star alloy wheels. It also allows customers to personalize their vehicle's interior with a range of color options and carbon fiber trim packages, enhancing their connection to the Corvette legacy.
