BRABUS Business Plus based on Mercedes-Benz V-Class (W447)

The innovative BRABUS Business Plus concept for the latest Mercedes-Benz V-Class

For decades, BRABUS has been a pioneer in the development of innovative, functional and stylishly integrated business and multimedia systems for cars. A van such as the latest Mercedes V-Class is especially predicated by nature for being fitted with these features thanks to the generous interior space it offers.

Following the great success of the equally innovative and exclusive BRABUS BUSINESS LOUNGE, the interior designers, IT specialists and electronics engineers of the Bottrop-based company turned their attention to developing a new BRABUS Business Plus concept conceived particularly for vehicles equipped with a sliding door on both sides.

It does not require the customer to forsake comfort, communication and entertainment either by any means. Four rear seats in a face-to-face arrangement are equally a given as are Internet access via WLAN and state-of-the-art infotainment technologies. The BRABUS MEDIA CENTER allows integrating BRABUS CLOUD smartphones, tablets and notebooks present in the vehicle.

Also on board: Apple TV and a Sony PlayStation 4 Slim for entertainment on the highest level, whose signals are reproduced by the two retractable screens integrated into the headliner and the sound system. The infotainment system is controlled with a tablet. Other interior functions such as, for example, the power-operated curtains or the lights are controlled with the BRABUS TOUCH CONTROL PANELS integrated next to the multi-way adjustable business seats.

Of course, BRABUS (Brabus-Allee, D-46240 Bottrop, phone +49 / (0) 2041 / 777-0, fax +49 / (0) 2041 / 777 111, Internet www.brabus-business.com) also offers an exclusive interior ambience in the BRABUS Business Plus variant. The company upholstery shop creates BRABUS fine leather interiors, which can be tailored to the vehicle owner’s preferences in every detail.

The BRABUS business van also has a captivating exterior thanks to a sporty and elegant BRABUS bodywork design and 19-inch BRABUS Monoblock wheels.

The passenger compartment of the Mercedes V-Class offers numerous possibilities for customization. One option is to transform the versatile interior into a mobile office, which can serve as a movie theater on wheels or a rolling concert hall with state-of-the-art multimedia equipment.

Business Plus is the latest development by the BRABUS interior designers, IT specialists and electronics engineers that fulfils all these requests. To this end, BRABUS installs four luxury business seats with a host of adjustment options in the rear compartment. Two of them face the front, the other are installed across from them and face the rear. Tailor-made power-operated curtains in the rear compartment protect the occupants from prying eyes. A practical center console integrated between the two rear-facing seats offers additional practical storage options as well as a safe. The integrated strongbox only opens after the unlock code is entered in the BRABUS TOUCH CONTROL PANEL.

The headliner is fitted with hundreds of fiber optics to create a starry sky above the occupants’ heads. It features two opposing 15.6-inch LED screens, which can be deployed and retracted at the touch of a button. They can be used for watching the program of Apple TV, Media Center or PlayStation, and as monitors for working on the computer. The gimbaled LED reading lights for each seat were likewise stylishly integrated into the headliner.

A power-retractable table recessed in the side paneling next to each business seat offers enough room for a notebook or snacks while on the road. Also within easy reach from the two forward-facing seats is a BRABUS TOUCH CONTROL PANEL for controlling the various on-board comfort and convenience the practical hot/cold cup holders, which can keep beverages cool or warm as desired.

As the Business Plus label indicates, the focus of this concept is on the integration of state-of-the-art communication equipment. It allows the passengers on board to go online and connect to the entire world. As a result, they are able to handle their workload or attend to their business dealings in maximum comfort even while on the road. They can also hold conferences in a pleasant ambience that is sealed off from the outside world.

The many media offerings provided by a Sony PlayStation 4, Apple TV, the BRABUS MEDIA CENTER or via LTE high-speed Internet router from the worldwide web can be accessed with a tablet computer. Of course, the passengers can also connect their own smartphones, tablets and notebooks to the Internet via the on-board WLAN network provided by the LTE router.

The exclusive BRABUS fine leather interior ensures maximum comfort and a refined ambience. The van at the Geneva Motor Show 2018 is fitted with a combination of porcelain white and black leather, which was perforated in the BRABUS upholstery shop in a precise pattern with pinpoint accuracy.

The bodywork of the BRABUS Business Plus people carrier based on the latest Mercedes-Benz W 447 model series was also refined. The BRABUS aerodynamic-enhancement components are manufactured from PUR plastic in OEM quality, which ensures a precise fit and problem-free paintability.

To give the face of the V-Class an even more distinctive design, the BRABUS designers developed a front spoiler that mounts to the lower section of the bumper, and attachments for the side air intakes of the production fascia. Thanks to its sophisticated shape, the spoiler reduces front-axle lift at high speeds, which further optimizes the handling stability.

The three-piece BRABUS add-on component for the rear bumper features tailor-made cutouts on the left and right to provide the perfect backdrop for the four tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless sport exhaust. The diffuser-look center section lends the van a decidedly athletic appearance from the rear.

The exciting BRABUS looks of course also include BRABUS Monoblock alloys, which were developed specifically for the V-Class. They come in four different designs and with diameters of 18 and 19 inches. The show car in Geneva is fitted with 8.5Jx19 wheels of two different wheel designs: BRABUS Monoblock F cross-spoke wheels and BRABUS Monoblock T wheels with five double-spokes. The optimal high-performance tires of size 255/40 ZR 19 front and back come from technology partners Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA.

To place even more emphasis on the dynamic looks, the BRABUS suspension engineers developed special sport springs. They are calibrated to work with the production shocks and lower the ride height of the V-Class by between 15 and 25 millimeters (.6 to 1 in) depending on the particular model.

BRABUS chose a Mercedes V 250 d with extra-long wheelbase as the basis for the presentation of the new BRABUS Business Plus concept. For this engine, BRABUS offers the BRABUS PowerXtra D4 performance upgrade. This performance kit comprises a plug-and-play control module that boosts the output of the four-cylinder common-rail turbodiesel engine by 33 kW / 45 hp (44 bhp) and bumps peak torque by 70 Nm (52 lb-ft).

With 510 Nm on tap between 1,400 and 2,400 rpm, the tuned diesel engine offers superior pulling power, which lets the business van master every driving situation effortlessly. The peak output jumps from stock 140 kW / 190 hp to 173 kW / 235 hp (188 to 232 bhp). As a result, the van accelerates from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 8.8. seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).

All BRABUS components and conversions come with the three-year or 100,000-kilomeeter / 62,000-mile BRABUS Tuning Warranty® (see BRABUS Warranty Terms and Conditions, updated July 2013). BRABUS recommends Motul high-performance lubricants.

The BRABUS Business Plus van based on the Mercedes-Benz V-Class (W447) can be ordered as a complete vehicle. As an alternative, BRABUS is also able to convert customer vehicles. The website www.brabus-business.com was established specifically for this field of automotive refinement.
